Feature:
Virtual Staging

With the help of Virtual Staging, images, icons, videos and 3D objects can be integrated into a tour.

Thanks to our built-in furniture catalog with over 600 models, you can even furnish entire houses!

Welcome guests with a green screen video, hide imperfections behind a picture or incorporate animated avatars into your tour. Virtual Staging even enables "gamification": with click actions on VS elements, Matterport tours turn into a real gaming experience!

One feature, endless possibilities

Create virtual worlds and bring your Matterport Spaces to life!
Virtual Staging allows you to integrate any content of your choice in your tour. By using transparent PNGs or SVGs, even texts, signposts or icons can be staged inside the tour.

3D Objects, Avatars and more

The integration of 3D objects can turn your Matterport tour into a real interactive experience - through the inclusion of click actions, "gamification" is also possible!
For instance, 3D objects of Easter bunnies and eggs can be staged and linked with a click action to create a virtual Easter egg hunt.

Green Screen Videos

With MPskin's integrated "Green Screen Video" feature, green screen videos can easily be staged in the tour.
You can use our "Color Filter" to automatically remove the background color of the video. This allows you to also use videos with a blue or other colored background.

FAQs about Virtual Staging

Which features can I use with which plan?

With the BASIC and BUSINESS plan, you can stage images (PNG/SVG/JPG) as well as icons.
In order to stage videos and 3D objects, you will need the PRO plan.

Which formats are supported for VS with 3D objects?

In MPskin, only 3D objects in GLB format can be used.

If your model is currently in a different format, you can use free programs or websites such as Blender or Rapidcompact to convert it.
The maximum permitted file size for 3D objects is 50 MB.

What do I have to keep in mind when creating/optimizing 3D objects?

3D objects are generally a complex topic, as there are many different factors that influence the quality, performance and size of the object.
Here is a list of the most important points:

  • Export all textures (images, videos, textures in the 3D models) in powers of two
  • Use as few vertices as possible to ensure good performance
  • Use (Draco) compression in Blender
  • Make sure that the objects have no position offset but are in "0,0,0".
  • The objects should have only one scene as root element
  • Textures should have less than 1024 px per texture/object/dimension if possible
  • For objects from Sketchfab that are not loaded or loaded incorrectly, it CAN help to import them into Blender and export them again as GLB
How can I incorporate videos with Virtual Staging?

Small videos up to 20 MB can be uploaded and integrated directly.
To display larger/longer videos, we recommend staging a short trailer video and placing a click action on it, in which the full video is stored via a link. This helps avoid stability and loading time issues.

Can texts also be integrated with Virtual Staging?

Yes! Texts can be saved as JPG or PNG and staged as an "image".
If you are looking to to include texts in several languages, you can also upload different files for each language.
