Feature:
Scan Points / Floors

This feature allows you to create a variety of tour versions by activating different scan points.

This way, for example, a hotel can be divided into several small skins, each containing only one room. Simply duplicate the skin and deactivate the unwanted scan points!
Individual rooms can also be blocked - for example, if a public and an internal version of a space are required.

Even entire floors can be deactivated as well as renamed in the Floor Selector - all with using just one Matterport Space!

One space, many versions

By duplicating a skin, multiple versions of a space can be created through enabling and disabling different scan points in different skins. This feature makes it possible, for example, to divide the scan of a hotel into individual skins, each containing only one room, without using additional Matterport Spaces! In the industrial sector, it is also possible to create public and internal versions of a space where certain areas are not accessible.

Hiding and renaming floors

Floors can also be renamed or hidden completely! You decide which floors are visible in the Floor Selector - hidden floors can still be accessed as long as the corresponding scan points are active.
By adjusting the names for each floor, navigation of the model is made easier, helping users to better understand the floor structure.

Simplify your workflow

Thanks to MPskin's intuitive user interface, even large numbers of scan points can be deactivated in just a few seconds. While this functionality would require a lot of scrolling in the Matterport backend, in MPskin, it can be done by simply clicking on the floorplan.
You can even deactivate all scans on an entire floor at once with just a single click!

FAQs about Scans/Floors

Which scan points should be deactivated directly in Matterport?

We generally recommend deactivating scan points that are definitely no longer needed directly in Matterport.
This mainly concerns “technical scans” (scans that were made to improve the mesh) or scans that are very close to each other.
This prevents you from accidentally reactivating unwanted scans.

Can hidden floors still be navigated?

It depends - if you have also deactivated all scan points on the floor, the entire floor is no longer accessible.
If all or certain scan points are still active, the floor can still be navigated.

Can floors also be hidden in the Dollhouse?

Unfortunately, this is not possible as the Dollhouse view comes directly from Matterport.
Changes to the Dollhouse can only be made in Matterport - there, it would be possible to remove an entire floor with trims.
